Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner together with the Houston Police Department (HPD) and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD) will announce the start of a new partnership to engage Houston youth. The Houston Police Department through its Police Activities League (PAL) will take an active role in providing impactful recreation, sports and enrichment opportunities for youth in Houston parks this summer. Details of the partnership will be made in conjunction with the release of opening dates for City of Houston pools on May 21, 2018 at Moody Park pool (3201 Fulton, 77009).

The City of Houston Summer Pool Season begins Memorial Day weekend and runs from May 26–August 10, 2018. Pools operate Tuesday through Sunday (1:00 pm-8:00 pm) and are closed on Mondays for regular maintenance. The Fall Pool season runs from August 11–September 5, 2018 and are open Saturday and Sunday only (1:00 pm–8:00 pm). Holiday hours include Memorial Day Weekend May 26-May 28 (1:00 pm–8:00 pm), Independence Day July 4 (1:00 pm–5:00 pm), and Labor Day September 3 (1:00 pm–5:00 pm).
