HOUSTON, Texas – City of Houston Municipal Courts Department will be closed beginning 8:00 a.m., on Monday, January 3, 2022 in observance of the New Year’s Day Holiday. Normal business hours will resume effective Tuesday, January 4, 2022. Individuals who have court settings on Monday will be given the opportunity to reset their case(s).
Resets will be given in person beginning now at all City of Houston court locations through Friday, January 7, 2022, until 5 p.m. Please visit the Municipal Courts’ website at www.houstontx.gov/courts for information on all court locations and hours of operation. It is important to note that if an individual fails to reset their case(s) during the reset period (now through 1/7/22), an arrest warrant may be issued.
On Monday, January 3, 2022, there will be:
- No Trials by Judge. Resets will be given in person at all City of Houston court locations beginning now through Friday, January 7, 2022, until 5 p.m. Scheduled court settings will resume Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
- No Arraignments. Anyone scheduled for arraignments during this time must come in person beginning now through Friday, January 7, 2022, until 5:00 p.m. to receive a new arraignment date. Scheduled court settings will resume Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
- No Parking Adjudication Hearings. Hearings will resume Tuesday, January 4, 2022
- No Jury Service. If you were scheduled for jury service on January 3, 2022, you do not need to reschedule your jury service. Jury Service will resume, Tuesday, January 4, 2022
Following Mayor Sylvester Turner’s and CDC guidelines to protect the public and MCD staff from the spread of COVID-19, members of the public will be required to wear face masks/facial coverings and have their temperature taken upon entering the courthouse.

CIERRE DE LA CORTE MUNICIPAL DE LA CIUDAD DE HOUSTON LUNES, 3 DE ENERO DE 2022 EN OBSERVANCIA DEL DÍA FESTIVO DE AÑO NUEVO
HOUSTON, Texas – Las Cortes Municipales de la Ciudad de Houston estarán cerradas a partir de las 8:00 a.m. el Lunes 3 de Enero de 2022, en observación del Día de Año Nuevo. El horario laboral normal se reanudará a partir el Martes 4 de Enero de 2022. Las personas que tengan citas programadas el Lunes 3 de Enero de 2022, tendrán la oportunidad de reprogramar su(s) caso(s).
Los restablecimientos serán dados en persona comenzando ahora en todas las ubicaciones de la corte de la Ciudad de Houston al Viernes, 7 de Enero de 2022, hasta las 5 p.m. Por favor visite el sitio web de las Cortes Municipales al www.houstontx.gov/courts para información sobre todas las ubicaciones de la corte y las horas de operación. Es importante tener en cuenta que si un individuo no reprograme su caso(s) durante el período de restablecimiento (ahora hasta el 1/7/22), se puede emitir una orden de arresto.
El Lunes 3 de Enero de 2022, habrá:

Las personas programadas para Primera Comparecencia (Arraignment) el Lunes, 3 de Enero, 2022, debe venir en persona empezando ahora hasta el Viernes 7 de Enero de 2022, hasta las 5:00 p.m. para recibir una nueva fecha de primera comparecencia. Las citas en el horario de la corte comenzarán de nuevo el Martes, 4 de Enero de 2022.
- No Audiencias de Adjudicación de Estacionamiento. Las Audiencias de Estacionamiento comenzarán de nuevo el Martes, 4 de Enero de 2022.
- No Servicio del Jurado. Las personas programadas para el Servicio de Jurado el Lunes, 3 de Enero, 2022, no necesitan reprogramar su servicio del jurado. El Servicio del Jurado se reanudará el Martes 4 de Enero de 2022.
Siguiendo las directrices del Alcalde Sylvester Turner y del CDC para proteger al público y al personal de MCD de la propagación de COVID-19, los miembros del público tendrán que usar cubiertas faciales y que se les tomará la temperature al entrar la corte.
