ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building and forced a door open on the first floor. The unit was vacant, and fire was found in the ceiling between the first and second floor. Crews checked the unit above and found low visibility. A primary search was conducted during which a firefighter fell through the weakened floor. He was able to stand and walk out of the unit. The roof was ventilated, and the fire was fully extinguished. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. 50 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 68, 82, 2, 15, 83, 10, 51, 73, 76 and 57.
