Apartment Fire in The Westchase Area

WHAT: Apartment fire.

WHEN: April 12, 2025, at 6:03 p.m.

WHERE: 2851 Wallingford Dr. 77042.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.

DAMAGE: $1,000,000 in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Under investigation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming through the roof of a 2-story apartment building. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. All occupants were confirmed to be out of the building. The fire spread to the attic and crews switched to a defensive attack, exiting the building. The fire was controlled and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. The roof of the building was completely burned away, with major damage to the entire second floor and water damage to the first-floor units, with a total of nine units destroyed or uninhabitable. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the displaced families. 56 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 76, 2, 78, 83, 57, 60, 69, 75, 10, 49 and Rescue 10.
