CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire coming from a second-floor apartment unit and made an offensive attack. They ventilated the roof and turned the power off to the building. A primary search was completed of the building’s 16 units and cleared. Crews quickly extinguished the fire in the unit of origin and the American Red Cross was notified and arrived on scene to assist the families. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 55 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 82, 2, 59, 68, 21, 28, 37, 48, 51, 73, 24, 82 and Rehab 8.
