DAMAGE: $12,500 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (abandoned or discarded materials).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find an apartment on fire and made an offensive attack. They extinguished the fire and contained it to the unit of origin. The utilities were secured for the unit and units below it. Once crews completed overhaul, the building was turned over to the apartment maintenance. An ashtray was knocked over and started the fire. 44 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 19, 34, 30, 32, 39, 43, 56 and 31.
