WHAT: Apartment fire.

DAMAGE: $25,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source (electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from an apartment and made an offensive attack. A primary search was completed, and the utilities were secured. The roof was ventilated, and crews pulled ceiling to access and quickly extinguish the fire. The fire started in an exterior electrical box and piping and traveled into the attic area. 35 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 2, 5, 78, 49, 69, 77, 57 and Rescue 10.
