WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: April 28, 2023 at 6:27 p.m.
WHERE: 1919 Runnels St. 77003.
INJURIES: One firefighter injured arm and transported to the hospital.

CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire coming from the first floor of a 2-story apartment building. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. The apartments were vacant and being demolished. Crews extinguished the fire and requested HFD Arson investigators to determine the cause and origin. One firefighter injured his arm while conducting overhaul and was transported to the hospital. Firefighters from Stations 15, 8, 19, 9, 17 and 30 responded to this incident.
