CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes with light smoke coming from a 2-story apartment. They found and extinguished a kitchen fire and checked for extension. A fan was used to clear the smoke from the unit and crews removed the burned items. Firefighters from Stations 58, 31 and 67 responded to this incident.
