WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: May 8, 2025, at 6:26 p.m.
WHERE: 5900 Selinsky Rd. 77048
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (electrical malfunction).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the eaves of a vacant apartment unit with fire on the second floor. They made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search. The adjacent apartments were cleared and checked for extension. There was no fire found in the attic or the other apartment units, however two of the units had smoke and sheetrock damage. The utilities were secured and HPD was requested for traffic control. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 38 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 55, 23, 26, 46, 35, 61, 24 and Rescue 42.
