CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find smoke coming from a stand-alone apartment boiler room. They made an offensive attack and secured the utilities. Crews pulled the ceiling of the boiler room to complete extinguishment of the fire with no extension to the surrounding apartment buildings. Firefighters from Stations 83, 57, 75 and 78 responded to this incident.
