WHAT: Apartment fire.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $380,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $20,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (fireworks).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire on the roof of a 2-story apartment building. The fire was confined to an area involving several air-conditioning units. They extinguished the fire and checked for extension with none found. CenterPoint was notified and the power was turned off to the ac units. Crews found large amounts of used fireworks in the area surrounding the fire, which appeared to have caught debris near the AC units on fire and spread. 39 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 20, 26, 18, 25, 40, 24 and Rescue 42.
