WHAT: Apartment fire.

INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $220,000 in estimated property saved, contained to room of origin.
DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (careless use or discard of smoking materials).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find fire visible from a second story apartment window. They made entry and extinguished the fire, containing it to the room of origin. A primary search was completed of the unit and the nearby apartments. A smoke alarm had alerted the residents to the fire. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 4, 5, 13, 50, 67 and 30.
