Apartment Fire in The Greater Heights Area

WHAT: Apartment Fire

WHEN: November 30, 2021 at 7:51 p.m.

WHERE: 2424 E. T.C. Jester Blvd. 77008

INJURIES: No reported injuries.

PROPERTY SAVED: $2.970 million in estimated property saved.

DAMAGE: $38 thousand in estimated damage.

CAUSE: Under Investigation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find smoke coming from the first floor of a large 3-story apartment building. Crews made an offensive attack and conducted a primary search with no one found. They completed extinguishment of the fire, which was kept in check by a sprinkler head, and ventilated the smoke from the building. Firefighters found a small alert dog upon a second search and took it too its owner. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Power was isolated and turned off to the affected unit. Firefighters from Stations 13, 15, 6, 31, 11, 62 and 30 responded to this incident.
