WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: June 11, 2023 at 10:25 a.m.
WHERE: 17050 Imperial Valley Dr. 77060.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $5,390,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $10,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within seven minutes to find light smoke coming from a window of an apartment building. Most of the buildings in the complex were boarded up and crews removed a large piece of plywood from the front door of the unit. They made an offensive attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. The fire was extinguished with no extension past the initial wall and floor. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. Public Works was notified to help secure a water leak. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 31, 64, 74, 84, 30 and the Aldine Fire Department.
