WHAT: Apartment fire.

CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building and located the fire in a first-floor unit. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. Two additional units were requested, and the utilities were secured. The crews extinguished the fire with no extension to the area of origin. Fans were used to ventilate smoke that had spread to the building’s 18 units. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the residents. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. Firefighters from Stations 15, 31, 64, 58, 67, 74, 84, 30 and the Aldine Fire Department responded to this incident.
