CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from the first floor of a 2-story apartment building. Smoke alarms had alerted the resident to the fire. A small kitchen fire involving the cabinets was found and extinguished by the crews. Firefighters removed the walls and cabinets to ensure there was no extension. The stove had been left on with a pot on a burner which caught fire and spread. Fans were used to ventilate the smoke from the unit. 31 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 74, 64, 84 and 67.
