WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: August 26, 2024, at 2:24 p.m.
WHERE: 4410 Engleford St. 77026.
INJURIES: One civilian transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $30,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $35,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental due to careless use of smoking materials.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from an apartment building. They made an attack on the fire and pulled the ceiling. A primary search was completed with no one found. Two citizens self-evacuated prior to HFDs arrival. One of the civilians was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Once the fire was extinguished, HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 39, 15, 19, 12, 30 and 24.
