CAUSE: Unintentional
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find fire on the second-floor balcony of a 3-story apartment building. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. The fire was contained to the patio and storage closet area with no extension into the apartments and extinguished within 20 minutes. A smoker used to cook earlier that day, had been left on the balcony with hot coals still inside and appeared to have caused the fire. Crews from Stations 5, 2, 4, 50, 66 and 57 responded to this incident.
