WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: May 29, 2024, at 9:38 p.m.
WHERE: 10300 Shady Ln. 77093.
INJURIES: One civilian transported to the hospital.
PROPERTY SAVED: More than $990,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $225,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from a first-floor unit of a 2-story apartment building. There were reports of people trapped on the second floor and a primary search was completed. One civilian was transported to the hospital by HFD EMS. As crews made an attack on the fire, the roof was ventilated, and the utilities were controlled. The fire was extinguished with four of the eight units in the building with damage. The apartment manager stated they would re-locate the families. 36 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 31, 34, 30, 56 and 58.
