CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from a 2-story apartment unit and made entry to find a fire in the kitchen. A primary search was completed of the unit and nearby units to ensure everyone was safely outside. The crews controlled the fire within about 20 minutes and pulled the ceiling to prevent the fire from spreading into the attic area. A fan was used to clear the smoke from the unit. CenterPoint arrived on scene and controlled the utilities. Red Cross responded to assist the family. An air fryer caught fire and spread. 32 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 23, 70, 71, 72, 93, 94 and 24.
