CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find an exterior apartment stairwell on fire and made an offensive attack. The utilities were controlled, and the fire was quickly extinguished with moderate damage to the walls and railing. There was no extension into the units. 33 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 78, 83, 10, 57, 69, 75 and 86.
