WHAT: Apartment Fire.
WHEN: October 28, 2022 at 9:16 p.m.
WHERE: 12400 Overbrook Ln. 77077.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $470,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $60,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find an apartment unit on fire and made an offensive attack. The resident stated they were cooking and left to smell and hear something burning and saw the stovetop was on fire. They attempted to extinguish the fire before evacuating and calling 9-1-1. Crews performed a primary search and crews encountered heavy smoke and heat. Once the fire was reset they were able to fully extinguished it. CenterPoint responded to the scene and secured the utilities. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the tenant. Firefighters remained on scene to check for extension and conduct salvage and overall. Crews from Stations 2, 78, 83, 69, 75, 86, 76 and 57 responded to this incident.
