DAMAGE: $25,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (unspecified electrical short in or around a microwave).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within two minutes to find a fire in an apartment unit of a 4-story building. They completed a primary search and checked for extension. The utilities were secured, and the fire was extinguished. The apartment management made arrangements for the displaced residents. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 43 personnel were dispatched to this incident, including crews from Stations 21, 2, 46, 16, 37, 48, 59 and 33.
