CAUSE: Failure of equipment or heat source (electrical malfunction of stove)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes to find light black smoke coming from a second-floor apartment unit. They found and extinguished a fire in the kitchen. The crews pulled the ceiling to check for extension with none found. A primary search was completed, and the unit was ventilated. The fire was believed to have started from an electrical malfunction of the stove. Firefighters from Stations 68, 10, 73 and 76 responded to this incident.
