| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 800 North Shepherd Drive about 9:35 p.m. on Saturday (March 30).
Identities of the two deceased victims, a man, 64, and a woman, 25, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer G. Anderson reported:
The female driver of a blue Chevrolet Cruze was traveling northbound at the above address when her vehicle struck two pedestrians who were in the street. The driver initially left the scene, but returned a short time later. Paramedics transported the two pedestrians to area hospitals where they were pronounced deceased.
The driver, who did not show signs of intoxication, was questioned and released. The incident will likely be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The investigation is continuing.
