Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash that occurred at 1000 North Loop East (State Interstate Highway 610 North) about 1:35 p.m. on October 9.
The suspect, Brandon Lanone Ivory, 42, is charged with intoxication assault in the 180th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Ivory is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased male, 47, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Wu and Officer R. Leibold reported:
A white Ford Econoline van was traveling southbound at the above address when the driver made an unsafe lane change and struck a yellow Harley Davidson motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle fell and struck the concrete barrier on the freeway.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Brandon Ivory, who was not injured, remained at the scene and exhibited signs of impairment. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Ivory was charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
