Investigation into Apparent Murder-Suicide at 322 Terra Reserve Place

Houston police are investigating the apparent murder-suicide of one adult female and one juvenile female at 322 Terra Reserve Place at 5:46 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 29).

The identities of the female victim, 4, and the female suspect, 35, are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Meador and W. Dunn reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting and found the female victim suffering a gunshot wound on the third floor of the residence at the above address and the suspect, the child’s mother, with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the child deceased at the scene.  The suspect was transported to an area hospital.

Further investigation revealed witnesses inside the residence reported hearing gunshots inside the home and forced their way into the child’s room.  On Wednesday (Sept. 30) the suspect was pronounced deceased.
