Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female and wounding of a male that occurred at 11507 Panay Drive about 12:55 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 28).
The identity of the deceased female, 52, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and were told it was a suicide-in-progress. Upon arrival they found the victim suffering several gunshot wounds and a male with apparent gunshot wounds. The female was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. The male was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Officers spoke with persons that were in the residence at the time of the shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.
