Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 13200 Fondren Road about 5::40 p.m. on July 25.
The suspect, Kelvin Demon Lyons, 38, is charged with murder in the 185th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Lyons is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Amond Morrison, 51.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Beiza and I. Barrett reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a suspicious person call at a bus stop at the above address and found a man with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male, later identified as Mr. Morrison, to an area hospital where was pronounced deceased.
Detectives learned the victim and another male were involved in a verbal altercation at the bus stop that led to the shooting. The suspect fled on foot.
Further investigation identified Lyons as the suspect in this case. Members of HPD’s Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team arrested Lyons on Friday (August 7) and he was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
