Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a male and wounding of two others that occurred about 2 a.m. at 3017 Milam Street on April 27.
The suspect, Jefferson Velasquez, 18, is charged with murder in the 174th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Velasquez is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Noah Ramirez, 27.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass and Detective J. Brown reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a business at the above address. Officers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. All three were transported to area hospitals, where doctors pronounced one male, later identified as Mr. Ramirez, deceased. Two other persons were shot.
Investigators learned a fight inside the business led to the shooting.
Further investigation identified Jefferson Velasquez as the suspect in this incident and he was subsequently charged. Velasquez was arrested and booked into the Harris County jail.
