UPDATE: Composite Sketch and Surveillance Video Released in Fatal Shooting at 7200 Canal Street

Houston police have released a composite sketch and video of a suspect sought in the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 7200 Canal Street about 8:55 p.m. on May 31.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, with black curly hair. He was seen wearing a beige t-shirt and light blue jeans. A composite sketch and video of the suspect are attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Jose Trujillo, 42.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants S. Jimenez and C. LaFour and Detectives C. Bowling and A. Hernandez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found a male with at least one gunshot wound lying on a sidewalk. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots before locating the victim.

Further investigation identified a male suspect running from the area after the shooting.
