Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred in the 3400 block of Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 9:40 p.m. on June 1.
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer T. Hudson reported:
A silver Nissan Sentra was traveling southeast on the freeway, attempting to exit at Scott Street. While the vehicle was exiting, a pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway and was struck. Houston Fire Department pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, did no show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
