Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 800 West Little York Road about 4:40 a.m. today (April 16).
The identity of the deceased female, 35, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer T. Riley reported:
A gray GMC Sierra truck was traveling westbound at the above address when the driver struck a pedestrian. The female pedestrian was crossing the street, not in a crosswalk, and failed to yield the right of way to the vehicle.
Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the GMC did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
