Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1100 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 8 p.m. on Saturday (June 21).
The deceased male is identified as Justin McCarthy, 42.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer T. Johnson reported:
A male was operating an Indian Roadmaster motorcycle southbound on the Eastex Freeway when he failed to maintain a single lane and struck the retaining barricade. The operator was ejected from the motorcycle and fell over the barricade and landed on a wooded area directly below the overpass. The motorcycle remained on the mainlines of the freeway.
Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
