Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1001 Brittmoore Road about 2 a.m. on May 30.
The identity of the deceased male, 23, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer J. Johnson reported:
A black Dodge Charger traveling northbound was stationary at a stop sign at the intersection of Brittmoore Road and Old Katy Road. A silver Toyota Corolla also traveling northbound failed to control speed striking the Dodge, pushing it into the intersection.
The driver of the Dodge Charger was standing outside the vehicle when a silver Chevrolet Captiva traveling westbound on Old Katy Road struck him. Paramedics transported the male to an area hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased.
The female driver of the Toyota, Meagan Elizabeth Jones, 22, was determined to be impaired and subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #11.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.
