Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man found at 1307 West Sam Houston Parkway North about 2:50 a.m. on March 9, 2024.
The suspect, Sheila Virginia Martinez, 23, is charged with murder in the 337th State District Court. A booking photo of Martinez is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Christopher Gonzalez, 27.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives L. Patterson and N. Henderson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a motel at the above address and found a male suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Gonzalez, deceased.
A female – who was in a dating relationship with the victim – told officers the male shot himself.
An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined Gonzalez’s cause and manner of death was a homicide.
Further investigation identified Sheila Martinez, the victim’s partner, as a suspect in this incident. She was charged for her role in this incident on April 15, 2025. She was arrested on Monday (May 19) in Chambers County, TX.
