Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 1000 Magnolia Point Drive about 7 p.m. on Saturday (May 17).
The identity of the deceased male, 18, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer T. Hudson reported:
The driver of a gray Ford Mustang was traveling westbound on Magnolia Point Drive when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the culvert. The Mustang then flipped over and came to a rest on the hood of the car.
The passenger was ejected and was transported via Life Flight Helicopter to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver remained in the vehicle and was pulled out by bystanders. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
No other vehicles were involved in this crash. The investigation is ongoing.
