Update: Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4800 West Fuqua Street

Houston police have determined a vehicle of interest in a fatal crash that occurred at 4800 West Fuqua Street about 10:05 p.m. on Friday (April 25) was not involved.

Initially investigators believed the driver of a blue Chevrolet Silverado was responsible for striking the victim. Further investigation revealed the driver and passenger in the blue Chevrolet had stopped to render aid to the victim but did not strike the victim.

The deceased male is identified as Kevin Jones, 67.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer D. Thompson reported:

The operator of a black Harley-Davidson FLS motorcycle was traveling eastbound near the above location when he lost control and then struck the concrete curb along the median. The driver of the Chevrolet saw the victim (Mr. Jones) lying on the roadway, stopped and attempted to assist him.

The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
