Houston police are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest wanted for questioning in the shooting of a child at 13350 Northborough Drive about 12:35 a.m. on April 1.
The person of interest is described only as a black male in dark clothing. Surveillance photos of the person of interest, who is not charged, are attached to this news release.
The male victim, 7, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition where he was treated and released.
HPD Major Assaults Division Sergeant V. Garcia and Detective D. Polite reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex near the above address and learned the juvenile victim had suffered a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the child to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation determined the juvenile was inside his apartment when multiple gunshots were heard directly outside. One of the rounds penetrated the wall of the apartment and grazed the victim.
Further investigation developed information on a person of interest, pictured below. Detectives want to speak with him, as he is believed to have information on the shooting.
