WHAT: Warehouse fire.
WHEN: April 8, 2025, at 6:18 p.m.
WHERE: 6500 block of Luce St. 77087.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $500,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental (lithium battery in a vehicle).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a large warehouse and made an offensive attack. They quickly controlled the structure fire and found several vehicles on fire inside the structure. Once they were controlled, HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 61 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 36, 23, 8, 20, 26, 29, 40, 46, 33 and Hazmat 22.
