| Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2000 Wirt Road about 5:15 p.m. on Saturday (April 5).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Wu and Officer K. Stanley reported:
The male, a pedestrian, stepped off the sidewalk into the roadway and attempted to cross the street near the above address. The male was then struck by a green Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling northbound on Wirt Road. The driver stopped and remained at the scene.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased. The driver, who was determined not to be impaired, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
