Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3800 North Loop East

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found in the 3800 block of North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) at about 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 26).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Lazo and Detective M. Providence reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a crash on the highway at the above address. Officers located a truck that appeared to have struck a highway barrier. A male in the driver seat was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

During the investigation, detectives learned of a second vehicle possibly related to this incident located in the 5100 block of Langley Road. Officers found a second male driver suffering from at least one gunshot wound at about 7:20 p.m. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital and he is expected to survive his injuries.

At this time, it is unclear if the second vehicle and its driver are involved in the shooting incident on the highway. The investigation is ongoing.
