Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4100 Ward Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4100 Ward Street about 2 a.m. today (Feb. 26).

The identity of the victim, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Vinogradov and D. Crowder reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the street at the above address and found a male with multiple gunshot wounds.  The victim was able to tell officers he was a rideshare driver and that three black male suspects armed with guns shot him and stole his vehicle, a black Hyundai Santa Fe SUV.

Paramedics transported the man to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The stolen Hyundai was later located abandoned in the 7100 block of Goforth Street, a few blocks from the shooting scene.
