Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 7700 Antoine Drive about 10:20 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 24).
The identity of the deceased male, 57, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer R. Young reported:
A silver Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Antoine Drive when the driver lost control and struck a curb. The vehicle then left the roadway, struck a mailbox, a streetlight and then a tree while rolling over. The victim was thrown from the vehicle and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
A second person, 25, who claimed to be the passenger in the Trailblazer, was able to exit the vehicle. He did not show signs of intoxication and was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
