WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: February 4, 2025, at 7:42 p.m.
WHERE: 9401 Coventry Square Dr. 77099.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: More than $8,000,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $22,500 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (cutting or welding too close to combustible).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a second story window and found hidden fire in the exterior wall where the air-conditioning lines entered. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and secured the utilities. A primary search was completed, and fans were used to clear the smoke from the apartments. Maintenance was working on the air conditioners and sweating the pipe. The conducted heat most likely caused the fire. 46 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 15, 68, 83, 10, 73, 75, 76, 82, 57 and Rescue 10.
