The fatal shooting of a man at 1251 Wilcrest Drive about 6:20 p.m. Friday (January 31) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The male shooter was transported to an area hospital and is expected to survive.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective L. Brooks reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds inside an apartment. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. A second male with gunshot wounds was found in the parking lot and transported by paramedics to an area hospital.
A preliminary investigation determined the males met in the apartment and got into an argument. The argument escalated with the men pointing guns and shooting each other.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and it was determined the case would be presented to a grand jury for review.
