| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of an infant at 7120 Village Way about 4 p.m. on April 9, 2024.
The suspect, Iliana Isela Madrid, 32, is charged with injury to a child in the 497th State District Court. A booking photo of Madrid is attached to this news release.
The one-year-old infant was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Graf II and E. Torres II reported:
Madrid, the guardian of the infant, noticed he was unresponsive, contacted 9-1-1 and attempted to provide medical assistance. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene, provided medical aid and transported the infant to the hospital.
After further investigation and consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Madrid was subsequently charged for her role in the infant’s death. Madrid was arrested last Friday (January 31) by members of the HPD Southeast Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team without incident.
