WHAT: Warehouse fire.
WHEN: December 31, 2024, at 6:40 a.m.
WHERE: 14023 S. Post Oak Rd. 77045.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $780,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $70,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a large 1-story warehouse and forced entry to make an offensive attack. The Houston Police Department was requested from traffic control. The crews ventilated the structure and requested additional HFD units due to the size of the warehouse. A primary search was completed, and the utilities were secured. A vehicle and some auto supplies were found to be on fire inside the business. Crews extinguished the fire and advised hazardous materials was not needed. A hot plate was on a wooden table near the vehicle and appeared to have caused the fire. 59 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 37, 2, 21, 59, 47, 80, 55, 24, 82 and Rescue 10.
