WHAT: Apartment fire.

WHERE: 5801 N. Houston Rosslyn Rd. 77091.
INJURIES: One firefighter transported to the hospital with minor injury.

DAMAGE: $75,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find light smoke coming from the first floor of a 2-story apartment and made an offensive attack. They conducted a primary search and extinguished the fire. There was severe damage to the kitchen area and the fire appeared to have started on the stove top. During overhaul one firefighter injured their arm and was transported to the hospital. He was released to go back to duty. 38 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 58, 2, 4, 5, 13, 50 and 67.
